3 Reasons we're Betting to the Upside (AAPL)

April 28, 2022

Apple is set to report its 22Q2 earnings on Thursday, April 28th after the bell.

Back in March, Apple stopped all sales of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac in Russia following the events of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It's fair to say that investors may be a little uneasy going into this report.

However, LikeFolio data is painting a positive picture.

Here are 3 reasons we're staying optimistic ahead of this report:

1. Apple Podcasts are thriving.

Consumer mentions of listening to, downloading, following, or subscribing to a podcast on Apple Music have increased +31% YoY.

2. Apple Pay usage is rising.

The consumer is going digital.

Mentions of consumers using a digital wallet are trending at +107% YoY.

Furthermore, mentions of consumers using Apple Pay have increased +15% QoQ and +13% YoY.

The digital wallet trend isn't dying anytime soon. That's for sure.

3. This is the first full quarter that iPhone 13 sales will be reported.

Consumer mentions of purchasing the iPhone 13 have grown ~8% QoQ.

Not to mention that theiPhone brand accounts for more than 50% of the total Purchase Intent for the entire company.

In addition, Apple recently announced a sizable stock buyback program that we’ll hear more about on the call.

It's safe to say we don't think Apple will be disappointing investors in its 22Q2 report.
