The automaker cited stronger-than-expected initial demand as the motivating factor for its decision – LikeFolio data confirms that the truck made an excellent first impression.

Underlying Mentions for the F-150 Lightning surged in the days surrounding the truck’s official reveal. And, the daily volume since then has been incredibly respectable for an unreleased product.

With the status of Tesla’s (TSLA) Cybertruck largely unknown, Ford has an opportunity to pull ahead in the full-sized electric vehicle market.
