Mall Shopping Showing Signs of Improvement

One re-opening trend that we’re watching closely is Mall Shopping… Since the start of the COVID pandemic consumer mentions of visiting and shopping at a mall have been significantly depressed, while e-Commerce trends have boomed. This weakness was most apparent during the 2020 Holiday shopping season, a timeframe where we’ve traditionally seen a huge influx of mall-specific chatter. Mall Shopping Mentions are still holding a lower level, -18% YoY on a 7-day moving average, but have begun to show signs of improvement.
