WhatsApp is giving Meta a Boost
Meta, formerly Facebook, is set to report earnings after the close Wednesday, April 27th.
META's last report missed EPS estimates, sending the stock downward as much as 25%.
However, LikeFolio data shows Facebook Consumer PI mentions climbing higher, at +6% QoQ and +10% YoY.
That growth has been fueled by WhatsApp, which has been getting a lot of buzz lately for being used as a form of communication in Russia and Ukraine.
The end-to-end encrypted messaging app’s Purchase Intent has increased ~40% YoY, taking a big lead over all other brands under Meta's wing.
While this may not translate directly to revenue, the app boasts even more monthly active users than Instagram, coming in at #3 behind only YouTube and Facebook, ultimately enhancing Meta's web of social connections long-term.

So it wouldn't surprise us to see Meta perform better this time around.
