Volkswagen AG (OTC:VLKAF) made a big splash in the headlines today, confirming plans to rename its U.S. operations to “Voltswagen of America.” The automaker has been incredibly vocal about its shift towards electric vehicles, so how does the underlying data look for its current EV portfolio look?
Volkswagen’s flagship electric vehicle line ‘ID’ is showing strength. Consumer mentions of the brand are trending higher in 2021: +121% YoY on a 90-day moving average. As of right now, none of ‘Voltswagen’s’ electric cars are available for purchase in the U.S, but the rising level of Buzz is a promising sign.
Still, The German Automaker will need more than just Buzz to meet its goal of selling 1 million EVs worldwide by 2025.
