This emphasis on pantry favorites makes GIS a fun name to track in 2020, as consumers increasingly prepare meals at home. After surging at the onset of Covid, this trend continues to display growth: pacing +43% YoY in the past 90 days.
General Mills Mentions reveal some softness in 21Q2: -8% QoQ.
However, Mentions are accelerating significantly in the current quarter. This surge is also supported by external reports citing accelerating pantry restocking at the end of November.
We'll be watching to see how investors react when GIS reports Dec. 17 before the bell.
